Often tourists
and travellers feel that their visits to developing
countries are not really helping local people as their
spent funds are not filtering down to those who really
need them.
Escaped
to Peru is trying to help in this respect by making
donations directly to charity at grass roots level in
Lima. We donations of cash and clothing, plus anything
donated by travelers helping to make the lives of the
less fortunate a little better.
Projects
like Oratorio Salesiano Don Bosco are trying to do what
they can to help in the Rimac area of Lima where significant
social deprivation exists and young people have limited
life chances. In Cusco we are shortly going to be supporting
a day centre for poor elderly people. |
