I got married in Cuzco and wished for some of my speech to be written in Spanish. Suddenly Gary from the company was writing part of my wedding speech! It all went off beautifully. Thanks to all at Escaped to Peru. Top marks all round.

Your recommendations were right on the button with our expectations. The accommodations were great, the food was delicious and plentiful and - I don't know how you managed it - the weather was perfect!

The "White City" is an interesting and beautiful city to visit. At 2300m it is the ideal stop en route to Puno or Cusco for acclimatization. The huge Santa Catalina Convent is a must see as is the frozen "Junaita" mummy which was found on the top of a nearby volcano. Arequipa is also the entry point for the Colca Canyon.

colca canyon

This is either the deepest or the second deepest canyon in the world (disputed with the Cotahuasi next door) It is twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in the USA. nazca lines tour

Nazca Lines

These huge lines and figures in the desert just outside the town of Nazca are very impressive and a flight over them will be something you will never forget. The theories abound as to what the lines are for and who made them, you can decide for yourself during your 25 minute flight.

ballestas islands peru

Ballestas Islands

Paracas is the coastal fishing village which serves the Ballestas Islands, known as the Peruvian mini Galapagos Islands. A 3-hour boat trip out to these islands affords some great close-up views of seabirds, penguins, sealions and sometimes dolphins.
