Lines and Paracas Extension
This
Superb Extension can be added easily to your trip either at
the start or end of your route. It takes 3 days / 2 nights
to and from Lima. A two day version is available visiting
Nazca only.
The
price of this add-on will vary according to whether you require
Luxury or Voyager
level accommodation. Consult us regarding your requirements
so that we can plan the perfect trip for you and your traveling
companions.
Day
1
Take
the afternoon First Class Cruz del Sur bus from Lima to Nazca.
This bus leaves at around 1.30pm from Lima allowing you to
fly down from Cusco if you are at the end of your trip, or
connect from your late night or early morning international
flight if you are just arriving in Peru. The journey takes
6 hours as you travel through the desert.
Upon
arrival in Nazca you will be met and transfered to your comfortable
hotel to relax and enjoy an evening meal and wander the town
if you wish. Overnight Nazca.
Day
2
First
thing in the morning you will fly in a small airplane over
the mysterious Nazca Lines. These huge lines and figures in
the desert just outside the town are very impressive and a
flight over them will be something you will never forget.
The theories abound as to what the lines are for and who made
them, you can decide for yourself during your 25 minute flight.
In
addition to the Nazca Lines you will visit the pre-Inca Chauchilla
Cemetery to see ancient mummies in their original graves.
After
your flight and cemetery visit, around midday, you will be
driven in private transport for 3.5 hours to the fishing village
of Paracas. En route, after 2 hours or so, you will stop at
the very beautiful Huacachina Oasis in Ica. This is a true
oasis in the desert with some of the biggest sand dunes you
will ever see. Here you can eat, drink and take an optional
sand buggy and sand board excursion if you wish. Great fun!

You
will then continue on to the village of paracas and check
into your hotel for the night. Overnight Paracas.
Day 3.
Paracas is the
coastal fishing village which serves the Ballestas Islands,
known as the Peruvian mini Galapagos Islands. Starting at
around 8am you will take a 3-hour boat trip out to these islands
which affords some great close-up views of seabirds, penguins,
sealions and sometimes dolphins. The islands are still used
to farm guano, or bird droppings, for fertilizer and you will
see the workings and instalations.

After this trip
its back to the hotel to get your things together for the
3 hour First Class bus trip back to Lima getting to the capital
late afternoon allowing connections with your evening flight
home. Services end when you arrive at the Lima bus station.
If you are staying the night then you should coordinate with
us to be transfered to your hotel, or if not, to the airport.
