The itinerary that was made for us to include all of the areas that we wanted to visit was excellent, you did a great job in fitting a lot into a 3 week period....... There was no one stand out highlight of our trip as we enjoyed every place we visited and they were all individually exciting and quite different. If we had to pick one it would be a toss up between Easter Island and Machu Picchu. Thank you for all of the organization that went into our trip, we did not have to worry about any aspect other than to turn up at the allotted time and someone would look after every detail for us.
Many Thanks

Today you will arrive in La Paz, the largest city in Bolivia, but not the capital (Sucre is the capital). The city nestles in a valley just below the Bolivian plateau or Altiplano, surrounded by snowy peaks and dominated by the white mass of Illimani, the sacred mountain. The setting will take your breath away when viewed from the viewpoints above the city. Depending upon your arrival time you may have chance to take a city tour today or visit the ancient ruins of Tiwanaku.
Overnight in La Paz depending on your budget but we can recommend the Hotel Europa in the 5 star or the 3 star El Dorado for example.
You will catch an early morning flight will take you to the Amazon jungle town of Rurrenabaque, where you’ll be met by Chalalan Lodge staff and transferred to your hotel in the village. Jump into a hammock and take it easy in this lazy little frontier settlement on the Río Beni, this is one of the loveliest Bolivian lowland villages you will see.
Today is yours to explore the jungle town and just relax if you wish. Try a tropical drink at our favorite bamboo hut, the Mosquito Pub!

Early this morning you will take an exciting journey in a motorized dugout canoe for the five hour trip to Chalalan. Buried deep within Madidi National Park, this jungle complex made of traditional cabañas is owned and operated by an indigenous local tribe. The cabins are surrounded by dense forests, teeming with wildlife such as monkeys, tapirs, alligators, and wild pigs. The lodge structures are made from sustainable and / or local materials, from the chonta palm walls and the roofs woven from jakata leaves to the solar-powered plumbing system.
During the journey you will travel along the large Beni River and pass through the spectacular Bala Gorge before heading up the smaller Tiuchi River and then entering the Madidi National park. A park established in 1995, Madidi protects some of the wildest and most pristine Rainforest on earth, and the big animals such as herds of peccary, sloths, howler monkeys, giant otters, and jaguar still thrive in this park. Each day at Chalalan is filled with new discoveries as you enjoy excursions with your English-speaking guide in search of macaws, toucans, squirrel monkeys and more. With some luck you might even see a 300 pound tapir while out walking in the jungle.
An early morning departure takes you quickly (just 3 hours this time, as it is downstream) back to the town of Rurrenabaque. Here you will catch the flight back to La Paz. This afternoon is yours in La Paz to do whatever you wish, ask us for advise. Take an optional trip to the Tiahuanaco Ruins or explore the famous markets maybe.
We will take you to the airport for your flight home or you can combine this vacation with one to Peru. Peru and Bolivia are very easily combined via a visit to Lake Titicaca, please ask us for all the options.
