The itinerary that was made for us to include all of the areas that we wanted to visit was excellent, you did a great job in fitting a lot into a 3 week period....... There was no one stand out highlight of our trip as we enjoyed every place we visited and they were all individually exciting and quite different. If we had to pick one it would be a toss up between Easter Island and Machu Picchu. Thank you for all of the organization that went into our trip, we did not have to worry about any aspect other than to turn up at the allotted time and someone would look after every detail for us.
Many Thanks
Bogota:

Bogota is Colombia’s capital city, as well as the most populated city in the country. In terms of population and space, it is Colombia’s largest city and its altitude of 2670m above sea level make it the third highest major city in the world. Bogota has so many universities and libraries that it is often referred to as “The Athens of South America” and due to its political, cultural and economic developments is now ranked a World City along with other cities such as Washington, Dubai and Berlin.
While tourists used to avoid Bogota due to its reputation for being dangerous, its improved security, infrastructure and massive clean-up campaign have helped change the face of this metropolis. Bogota lies at the geographic heart of Colombia which makes it an ideal place from which to explore the country. As well as being the political, cultural and financial center for the country, its museums, churches and thriving nightlife mean that you can spend a good few days exploring the city.
While sprawling out over a significant area, the city has many leisure spots and parks and several high peaks from which to view the city. While it may seem like just another big city, spend a few days in Bogota’s historical areas and dine in its excellent cafes and you may just be swept off your feet by this remarkable city.
In addition to the city itself with its colonial old city and superb Gold Museum, you can also take the cable car or funicular railway to the top of Monserrate Hill for amazing views of the city. A visit to the Salt Cathedral is a must too. This old salt mine if a short drive from the city and is a memorable visit. Add to all this the gem of Villa de Leyva and you will be spoilt for choice.
There is much to see and do so just ask us for the options and visit our Colombia vacations page here to learn more!
