The itinerary that was made for us to include all of the areas that we wanted to visit was excellent, you did a great job in fitting a lot into a 3 week period....... There was no one stand out highlight of our trip as we enjoyed every place we visited and they were all individually exciting and quite different. If we had to pick one it would be a toss up between Easter Island and Machu Picchu. Thank you for all of the organization that went into our trip, we did not have to worry about any aspect other than to turn up at the allotted time and someone would look after every detail for us.
Many Thanks
Colombia’s Coffee Region:
Colombia’s Coffee Country is a landscape of lush vegetation and snow-capped mountains situated just a few hours south of Medellin or a short 50 minute flight from Bogota. The area is centered around the main cities of Armenia, Pereira and Manizales. A pleasant climate makes outdoor activities such as hiking and walking through coffee plantations a must. See below for the descriptions of Armenia, Pereira and Manizales and feel free to ask us for more details.
Armenia:

Armenia is a mid-size city situated between Bogota, Medellin and Cali, and is the capital of the Quindio department in Colombia. Armenia is one three cities on the Colombian Coffee-Growers Axis (Pereira and Manizales being the other two) and is one of the most striking areas in Colombia. Armenia is unique in that it manages to combine its modernity with the traditional ways of life from its ancestry.
Armenia’s northern region is the gateway to the Los Nevados National Park where mountains rise more than 4 500m above sea level. Among its many attractions is the Colombian National Coffee Park which is a theme park demonstrating the meticulous process of coffee growing, as well as taste testers for visitors. Armenia is an excellent choice if you wish to explore Colombia’s Coffee Country to the maximum.
Close to the city of Armenia are many coffee farms that cater for tourists to stay on such as Los Girasoles and the Bosques de Saman. Nearby are farms such as Recuca where you can participate in the coffee farming process and also the National Coffee Park for more experiences.
Pereira:

The city of Pereira is the capital city of the Risaralda department in Colombia. It is located in a small valley that moves down from the western Andes mountain sequence and is located in the heart of the coffee producing region in Colombia. It’s ideally located near thermal pools and a breathtaking 180m waterfall.
In addition to its many scenic walks, one can visit the Park Ucumari, a forested region where may be lucky enough to view the Andean bear. One can also take a brilliant day tour to the Santuario Otun Quimbaya which is nearby nature reserve ideal for ecological paths and hiking.
Manizales:

Manizales is a striking city that provides the perfect base for exploring the nearby Los Nevados National Park. The area is renowned for its production of Colombian coffee and is seen as an important center for higher educational institutions in Colombia.
For an interesting one day trip from Manizales, visit one of the oldest towns in coffee country: Salamina where the unusual cathedral will take your breath away and combined with a tour of the nearby town of Neira, is the perfect day out in Colombia’s coffee region.
