The itinerary that was made for us to include all of the areas that we wanted to visit was excellent, you did a great job in fitting a lot into a 3 week period....... There was no one stand out highlight of our trip as we enjoyed every place we visited and they were all individually exciting and quite different. If we had to pick one it would be a toss up between Easter Island and Machu Picchu. Thank you for all of the organization that went into our trip, we did not have to worry about any aspect other than to turn up at the allotted time and someone would look after every detail for us.
Many Thanks
Machu Picchu - The Sumaq Hotel
The 5 star Sumaq Hotel is a relatively new addition to the accommodation options in the town of Aguas Calientes, below the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. This family owned hotel has luxurious rooms and suites with views of the river or the mountain it nestles against. Rooms combine modern, light and spacious qualities with traditional Inca influences. The hotel also features a spa and a restaurant serving high quality Andean Gourmet Fusion Cuisine by a famous Lima-based chef.
Machu Picchu - The Pueblo Hotel
Machu Picchu, the Incan lost city, is perched on lush mountains near to Cusco in Peru and is a Mecca for those wishing to experience an ancient culture in a fantastic setting. While you are on tour with us in Peru why not stay at one of our favorite Machu Picchu hotels.

The Pueblo Hotel has many different types of rooms set in 12 acres of lovely gardens filled with plants, animals and birds. The hotel is located in the village below Machu Picchu, a short bus ride from the citadel, and has superb facilities.

Sacred Valley of the Incas - Aranwa Hotel and Spa
The Sacred Valley of the Incas is a spectacular 45 minute drive from Cusco and is literally filled with ancient Inca sites. Apart from the historical importance the valley is at a lower altitude than Cusco and therefore is more comfortable to sleep in, more oxygen, warmer and there are many many things to do and see. From your base at the Aranwa hotel you can sightsee, experience yesteryear cultures and wind down at the incredible spa if you wish.

The hotel is lovely and a mixture of styles throughout which we feel is very interesting. In the centre you have a 400 year old hacienda with colonial rooms, around this you have modern, minimalist rooms and suites. The facilities are second to none with lots of gardens, swimming pools, a museum, a church and a cinema. The spa is amazing, the biggest in South America.

Sacred Valley of the Incas - Rio Sagrado Hotel
This Orient Express hotel, the Rio Sagrado, sits on the banks of the Urubamba River in the beautiful Sacred Valley and has lovely views from all rooms. Built out of natural materials the hotel resembles a small Andean village, yet contains luxurious rooms, suites and villas. The hotel has a very exclusive feel and the excellent restaurant features Peruvian fusion cuisine, whilst the well equiped spa offers a wide range of treatments and facilities.
Cusco - Monasterio Hotel

The lovely and historic Monasterio Hotel has been repeatedly
voted "Best Hotel in South America" for example by Conde Nast
Traveler Awards amongst other travel organizations. The hotel is built in
a former monastery, has been beautifully restored, and is located in the
heart of Cusco on a very attractive plaza just three blocks from the main
square. The building was originally constructed in 1592 but was then converted
into a hotel in the year 1995 and today stands as a national historic landmark
and is an extremely famous hotel.
This one-of-a-kind hotel is built on Inca stone foundations and has a beautiful
chapel filled with elaborate gold ornaments. It combines the ambience of
the original colonial monastery with the opulence, elegance, and luxury
that you would expect in a five star hotel.
Within the rooms and common areas modern and colonial Spanish styles have been combined. Many of the rooms have nice views of the city or the tiled rooftops of Cusco. The hotel has 127 rooms which border the four interior courtyards, which come in a range of sizes and shapes due to the building’s age. In any case all rooms are well decorated and have cable TV, a mini-bar and en-suite bathroom, plus some are ‘oxygen-enriched’ at an extra cost. There is a very atmospheric bar and a first class restaurant run by a French chef.
Room equipment:
Telephone (room and bathroom), heating, well stocked mini-bar, safe, cable TV, fire alarms, hairdryer, and high quality furniture.
The original architecture and structural design of the Hotel Monasterio
has not been changed very much, and as such the rooms do reflect their original
use as a home for Jesuit monks. There are no two rooms that are identical
and they all vary in size and layout.
The Hotel Monasterio can help to reduce the effects of altitude by piping
an oxygen supplement into most of the rooms, please ask us for details.
Cusco - La Casona
The Inkaterra La Casona is a luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Cusco. This restored colonial house has 11 suites in three categories, complete with antique furnishings and original architectural features. La Casona has a spa, dining room, terrace and internal patios for you to enjoy, whilst your needs are taken care of by the hotel concierge.
Arequipa - Casa Andina Private Collection
Arequipa is Peru´s second city and has the nickname, The White City, as many of the historic buildings are constructed from Sillar, a white volcanic stone. The city is circled by volcanoes and the colonial centre is very attractive with many points of interest, the highlight of which is the Santa Catalina Convent. Our favorite hotel is the Casa Andina Private Collection.

This hotel is housed in a building which dates from 1794 when it was the city mint. The old colonial areas have been lovingly restored and it is truly beautiful. There are modern rooms too to increase the capacity and these are very well equipped. A stay here is a real pleasure, having breakfast on the terrace in the morning sun. From Arequipa you can easily visit the Colca Canyon.

Colca Canyon - Colca Lodge
Thought by many to be the deepest canyon in the world the Colca Canyon is a beautiful part of the country a few hours drive from Arequipa. The highlight of this part of the vacation for many is the visit to the Condor Cross viewpoint where on most days you may see 10 or more Andean Condors circling really close to you. This is truly magnificent sight and it seems these huge birds, with a 3 meter wingspan, are actually interested in you.
Our favorite place to stay in the Colca Valley is the Colca Lodge, and although it is not as luxurious as some of the other highlight hotels mentioned, it is lovely and has a spa and its own thermal springs within the hotel, great for an evening Pisco Sour while soaking.

Lima - Miraflores Park Hotel
Many visitors to Peru do not spend any time in Lima. This is indeed a shame as the city has a lot to offer and has quite an illustrious past as the old capital of the Spanish Viceroyalty. While you are in Lima there are so many things to do, the old colonial center, the huge fountain park, 3000 year old pyramids, the bohemian area of Barranco and the shopping, eating and drinking is great too. One of our highlight places to stay is the Miraflores Park hotel.

This 5 star hotel has ocean views from a superb location in the Miraflores area of the city. The Miraflores Park is renowned for its great service and excellent facilities and is the perfect base for those looking for high levels of comfort while in Lima.
